Lord have Mercy

The Church of the Crucified has a nice bible class but no pastor. The pastor was promoted and now the woman who is the head facilitator is leaving. She asked for volunteers to take the groups to a monastery and to a shrine. I volunteered and she made the announcement to everyone by e-mail. Promptly, she got an e-mail from her church office that everything has to be approved by the off site pastor including trips and the e-mail request to the pastor has to be channeled through the office. Oh how anal! I am tempted to let these groups go with our seniors at the Church of the MandMs who, coincidentally, want to go to the same places. I hope there is a special place in hell for pompous, self-important office staff. They seem to grow in every church office.
