The Christmas greetings

Today a woman called whom I never met. She lives in a part of Germany that was formerly East Germany. Her own elderly mother was permitted to visit West Germany when there still was an East and a West. I met the mother once on one of my trips. That was over twenty years ago. I used to send care packages from here. The mother died. The wall came down. One of the children now works in Japan! Perhaps I will meet them one of these days.
