The onslaught
Went to the Church of the Crucified this morning and got more anti-Obama stuff. You'd think he is Stalin and Hitler incarnate. Plus, if one opens one's mouth, everythone thinks that one is pro-choice which I am not. I am just pro Obama 'cause I can't stand McCain and he already proved that he is a total idiot by chosing Palin as a running mate.
Gerber baby
Heloise, when she was a babe, almost became a Gerber baby. I was just a little prune kind of a baby. Nope, nobody in my family every told me that I had any outstanding features as a small kid except I had very, very blond hair. It turned mousy brown when I was a teenager and was sick. Today I wish I had more mousy brown hair. However, I am turning into a Gerber baby now. Once the teeth are gone, I will be there.

This and That
Went to the doctor today and I have a nice sinus infection. I will live, however. My doctor, very Catholic is for Obama and I am thrilled. The silent Catholic minority is ticked with all the we-won't-tell-you-how-to-vote-but-you-must-vote-this way. Yes, I do think abortion is terrible but so is killing the economy. Poverty and despair kills the human spirit. I guess it is something that the bishops with their fat salaries and luxurious living conditions, cars and drivers, don't have to worry about. Now, ring the bell for cook please.
The Hamburger
I went to McDonald's today and bit into a hamburger that actually had a tomato in it again. So I guess the tomatoes-might-kill-you scare is history. Our branch manger has his home burglerized over the weekend. It is a shame. I went to the Third Order Black and White Hoods yesterday and it was the nicest meeting that I can remember. We all went to a bar and had a beer afterwards. Slept great. Must have been the beer.

Polygamy in Utah
The paper said that Utah had troubles with polygamy. I am married to two (fourlegged) dogs and polygamy works just fine. They both know that I am the top dog - I do everything for them.
The blog keeps changes
Yes, Francesca, I have fooled around again with the blog. Ate too much Italian salami recently and so the blog has an Italian touch now. The special web search engine is a bust. I set up my special search monster five times and still I can't find anything special about it PLUS it keeps telling me I can set one up. I HAVE.

Heloise
Heloise blogs a lot about her grandkids and it is joy to read all this funny stuff. I am finished with the grandkids but I remember fondly some of the real funny things they say and do and sort of re-live this time through Heloise's blogs. Kids do say the darnest things.
How many lattes?
Came home tonight with two large lattes and a bag of chocolate covered espresso beans. No wonder my lab tests are horrible. I will have to address my diet and exercise next. I hate the thought of both! I do really, really hate it.
The Crucified
Went to the Church of the Crucified tonight for confession and Mass. They have a lovely black priest who is really sweet. I had not been up there for a while with the cold etc. The cold is becoming old hat but does not want to go away. Tomorrow we have a chapter meeting of the Third Order white hoods. I will attend. I am reading a WWII diary. German front soldier at the Russian front. Fascinating. They are clueless what is going on behind them in terms of atrocities. Basically same what my father once told me. The guys who came through after the front soldiers were the "heroes" who just killed innocent civilians for the fun of it. It is too bad that books like this are not translated into English. However, English audiences would not believe that one could serve at the front throughout the war and not see any atrocities being committed. Yes, one could.....
Salami
I went to this gourmet shop yesterday and saw a nice salami - very small - and bought it. Almost had a heart attack when I looked at the price today. I guess I should have traded gold for the salami. Who would have known? It did taste good but not worth THAT much.
The Condo
Two years ago I was interested in a condo in Watertown and they went for almost a million. Today they cost half that amount. A friend thought I should buy now! I think she is nuts. I lost a bundle of my assests in the market and that won't come back anytime soon. Besides I could not have my friends over. There is no decent parking in Watertown where these condos are.

The Board
The pastor called concerning my seat on the Kitchen Board. He finally got a second person and I am off the Kitchen Board. One less thing to worry about. No more smelling bad onions. I have been drinking all sorts of teas to get over my cold. Reading up on Angels which will be the next talk coming up. Can't say the time is wasted.

Dinner and Lobster
My friend the nun came over tonight and we prepared her Dinner and the Lobster invitations for the beginning of next month. Also copied a DVD by Fr. Alleluja that she wanted. Those are the bible DVDs that I got when I graduated from cooking school in spring. We are showing them in her house but I can't attend because I am deadly allergic to her pet rat and that is OK when I am feeling well and I can overmedicate myself in advance but I can't breath now because of this wonderful cold I have and so don't dare go to her home yet. Did not go to our Morticians Club meeting at our church tonight. I knew it would be good but friends come first and now to B again: I don't feel that good. They had a cluster meeting tonight with all the morticians attending so I hope it was not much noticed that I was not there.
The new pastor
We seniors went to a bar this morning and the pastor came along. Heck, this is a piece of fiction. Remember? Anyway, after breakfast we had our bible class and were reading a couple of chapters from the Book of Little Samuel. Our very nice pastor actually made some nice comments about forgiving and forgetting. Afterwards I assembled mice again for export and the pastor got his Chinese lesson. I am fluent. Ha hung chee. You see? Sorry, I just sneezed. My cold is still hanging on and I ate a piece of bread for lunch which gave me coughing fits every time I took a bite. Fr. Wolfgang called this afternoon and told me that a parish in Canada got burgerlized over night. It's not too far from Mr. Seligman's temple. I was there just recently. Nobody got hurt. I have lots of things to do but don't have quite the energy. I think I will have to rest a few more days.

Nursing a cold
I am still nursing a cold. Went this past weekend to Siberia to help Fr. Wolfgang. Slept in sleeping bags because the nuns did not have any heat in their guest wing. It was fun but not for the cold. Could get a lot of work out. The branch is quiet except a different number seat movie addition is being floated about. Well Chucky, you are on your own with that one. The Big Herod's church is doing some ground breaking. I think he will have bitten off more than he can chew. Not now but later. Mother always thought so.

Fun reading
http://almanachdegotha.org/_wsn/page10.html
For all of you who follow know some of these people. It is great reading.

Toxic
I have been toxic since Monday night. I am a walking Chernobyl. Caught a nasty bug. Had to scale down a lot of "to do's and wanting to do's." Still, today I delivered 30 DVDs to Fr. Fallala and went to the brown hoods to pick up a computer which my friend, the nun, and I will deliver tomorrow. A six hour trip to Siberia. Somebody brought by soup today and Gladiola went and got cereal and Italian bottled water with fizz - my favorite. So now it is early bed time and New Jerusalem will not get any lessons tonight. She can give me a lesson if she wants to.

Baby bottles
We got baby bottles in church today. It's to support a pregnancy center. I just cleaned out my coin bank which is in the form of a rabbit. Thought it funny that a rabbit would contribute to a pregnancy center.
Instant Soups
I bought some instant soups recently. I thought they were all pretty much the same. Was I wrong! These are labelled Dr. McDougall's Soups. That should have given me a clue right there. He should have stayed in the operating room. The soups taste terrible. Give me the cheap ramen noodle soups that have some taste to them. "Natural delicious wellness...." It was mislabelled. It should have read: "Natural delicious wallpaper."
The 10:45
Was sort of empty and then filled up around 10:50. Can't figure out what people are thinking. Deacon preached the homily. Nice but our sound system was turned down and I had a hard time hearing all of it. Once he is ordained he will be going back to Trenton. I'd like to see one who stays in the area. However, I would not want to stay with Chucky either. Walking wet bathrobe.
Beergardens
Heloise went to a beergarden. We have one in the area. The German food is pretty lousy but they do have every kind of German beer that you would want. Mother liked Italian food and I will eat anything. Licorice! Yes, Heloise, I love licorice, too. There is a mean variety that one gets overseas that is covered with various sweet candy wraps with a rasberry flavor or lemon flavor and, yes, I can eat a packet in one sitting or setting or standing up. When I get company from abroad they usually bring me this stuff and I stick it in the freezer. I like to eat it cold. It lasts longer in the mouth. I only found one Italian variety of licorice that was waaay too strong and I did not like it. Must be made for old crusty Italian men or just plain old crusty men. Perhaps it is good for one's digestion. I had to spit it out.

Playing around
One of our staff people is in a play and invited the rest of us to attend the show. Yesterday was opening night. I had never seen her before - in a show that is. Must say she was good and also the play itself was funny. Another parishioner had a role as a brassy New York gangster moll and she was very good, too. Today Chucky and his people had an evangelization event organized. So I did not get much sleep after Adoration. Compared to Steubencity it was lame. I went to the first workshop and had lunch and quit and came home. I should have quit after the morning introduction. My lunch I had to exchange. In the first box lunch there was a long hair in it. Stared me right into the face as I opened the lid. Euuuh ahhhh! Right! I have no idea who Chucky's outstanding speakers are. I had Msgr. Gasrott. He talked about the Eucharist. He came to our parish around Easter and we all liked him but his workshop today was nothing special.

The Day
I went this morning to my Friday morning support group. Almost everyone is for Obama...Came home and watched DVDs about the OT. Getting ready to go to a theatre performance in Old Town. Telephone company called. They want a payment. I have not kept up with my phone bills. I always mail them a big check as an advance and forget about them. Such is life.

Heloise
Was supposed to meet with Heloise today but it did not work out. Too many scheduling conflicts. We had a nice chat on the phone. I love to read her blogs about the antics of her grandchildren. Too bad Heloise can't come to some of our "social" gatherings. My calendar looks like I dropped a bottle of ink on it. It overflows!
The installation
The Geek guy came this morning and installed a new receiver. You'd think it would take 1/2 hour. It was more like 2 hours. That derailed the schedule for good. However, the Geek was fantastic and bundled all cords tightly behind the cabinet and did not leave a jungle of wires lying around on the floor. We can clean, well, not me, but, ahem, somebody else might do it now. There was quite some dirt on the floor behind the cabinet. Obviously this cabinet had not been moved - although on wheels - in years. Took off to take Holy Communion to a friend. So far so good. The Big Herod is lying low. Came home and talked with Fr. Wolfgang about the newsletter and the brochure. The printer in Canada is an offset printer and there was trouble in Canada. We straightened it out. The stock market is further imploding. Worst I have seen in my life time. Now I am trying to find some papers for the accountant. Tonight we are having our social tapeworm evening, watching Fr. Aloise's Old Testament DVDs. Mr. Seligman is busy and I promised to pray for him. Love to do that. I will go up there next week for Jewish Adoration.

A days work
Today I went shopping for Fr. Wolfgang. Got envelopes and paper and ink cartridges for the printer. He liked the brochure and so there is a print job coming my way. Probably a weekend job. I also looked at printers that print directly on CDs and DVDs. Found one that I liked. Probably will buy one. There is another job coming up for Fr. Falleria. Another weekend job. That makes two weekend jobs right now. We took the real nun for a birthday lunch today. The branch manager is pursuing his hobby somewhere with antique cars. Our seniors got together as we do every Wednesday and we fabricated mice this morning. We all enjoyed the morning. We talked about sin as we made the little mice. We don't cultivate any - sin that is. We just talked about it - that is why we had such a great time. Next week it will be 1 Sam again. I am telling everyone to buy socks for me for the homeless. I skipped our Cafe tonight. Bookclub evenings are just not my thing. I can't read novels. I have two lectures coming up next week. I am practicing while I am driving.......

The Road
This morning I drove down the road and I am practicing my speech for next Monday. Stopped at a red light and then thought people who stood at the curb and watched me must think I am crazy. Anyway, I will start with Nicodemus on Monday night. Ought to be good. The car in front of me was some antique model with a Neanderthal puppet in the rear window. It looked very appropriate and the stupid thing made me laugh. The "Lord tol' me so" people are having a Mass tonight. I am not even upset that I can't go. That is real progress. I will be visiting Fr. Wolfgang shortly. He lives in Siberia now. The nun and I will go together. The drive should be fun. The stock market is further down, I am busier than ever and so I don't have that much time to brood over it which is probably very good. The real nun had a birthday on Monday and we will go out for lunch tomorrow. I gave her a Southstrom gift card. I did my share for the failing economy.

Fr. Fallera
Took out Fr. Fallera today. Nice day doing to lunch, the movies and buying books. Good thing I was not tuned in the stock market today. Also came home with a request to burn 30 DVDs for him. I just finished helping the brown hoods and here are the black hoods. Well, it is nice to be able to help. The other one needs money to go to a course. Sometimes I don't know if I am generous or stupid. I keep thinking the Bible says that God knows what I need. So he will provide what I need. At the rate the stock market is going, I think God thinks I need less and less.

Canada
Went this morning to Canada and distributed doughnuts and clothing. A homeless person ran after the car when I left. I did not roll down the window. "God bless you," he shouted. That makes it all worth it. Was almost back over the border when I realized I missed Rabbi Seligman's temple. Back I went. Rabbi Seligman had temple duty today and it was nice being greeted by him. There are six pillars behind him and it came to me that the seventh pillar to make this picture complete is us in the congregation. It was a lovely meditation piece. Actually two families wanted to come with me but decided yesterday that they had soccer practice. I went by myself which I don't mind at all. It was very peaceful and I always come back on a high. Wished I could have talked to Mr. Seligman a little. Now I am off to the Church of Food and Coke and will say my "hello's" and will come back. Not to worry - it is Coke as in Coca Cola but our spiritually is in the fizz and nowhere else. Sad. Fr. Mercy encourages me to leave but there is nowhere to go. I really would like to be in charge of Adult Education somewhere - minus the RCIA stuff. Our Lady of Perpetual Amnesia is in the wrong cluster. Mother Cunigund down the road might get a new pastor and who knows what he will be like. Ode to Joy has a bad reputation. Always had. The Flowers in the Meadow Church has an EPS graduate in charge already. The Church of the Crucified which I like does not have a pastor and will not get one. So? I'll wait until the Lord comes up with a solution and will concentrate on holy friends and holy friendships.

Nice Dinner
I had a lovely dinner tonight with Fr. Mercy. Well, the Lord has always mercy on me through him which is good. A little shop talk afterwards. I finished the brochure for Fr. Wolfgang and it is a big load off my shoulder to have newsletter and brochure "behind" me. It still needs to be printed but that is easy stuff compared to the design and composition. Next week I will have to get ready for two great talks coming up the week after. I enjoy adult evangelization. It is easy? Well, yes and no. It takes work to prepare myself and I need to read the bible and all sorts of Jewish commentaries. It is very rewarding, however. Tomorrow I am traveling to Canada to distribute doughnuts and clothing. The poor people up there don't have that much.

The clock shape
When I start my blog now I see my clock but on my computer at work I get an oval picture and it looks terrible. I wonder if some of my friends get a square looking clock on their computer? Well it is time for bed and adoration in the middle of the night. I need to read some nice holy articles now. I have plenty.
The brochure
I am making a brochure for Fr. Wolfgang. I think I have about half a ream of paper on the floor but I am finished. It takes a while to design something like it and then it is always a matter of moving a picture or text box by millimeters to the right or to the left. I have to remind myself to buy new ink for the printer. It looks like I am running out of blue ink. Tomorrow night I will show it to Fr. Meinikens. I have to say I enjoyed myself doing it but I am also glad it is finished. Now the man can go and recruit.

Driving
Last night I came home from the city and the rain had stopped but lightning was constantly before me. I saw the most incredible patterns: zig zag, straight down, side ways. It never thundered but the sky lit up for seconds, went dark again, lit up again. Without the thunder the lightning bolds made for wonderful entertainment all the way home.
