Another memorial service, another funeral coming up

I had to go to another memorial service today for a dear friend. He died in January. The priest repeated himself three times that the deceased had planted the flower beds for the church which "we could not see right now because of the weather" but he could not come up with anything else that was personal and the family has worshipped there for over 20 years! Then he went into the old foxtrot homily about "St. Paul and the resurrection". At least that kept him going. Tonight I learned that another friend died at the Big Herod's place. So another funeral will be coming up shortly. Went shopping for one of the brown hoods because he is coming down with a cold. Purchased a lot of cold medicine and was told at the check-out that there is a law that I could only purchase a certain amount. Lara the cold-medicine-pusher. So I had to leave at least 1/3 behind. He still got plenty but I did not know there was a limit on the amount one can purchase in regards to cold medicine. This particular parish also had a visiting priest tonight from one of those doomsday countries and I left money in the poor box. I am a sucker for the poor.
