Do eggs bounce?

Found two cartons of eggs in my refrigerator. One full and fresh and one old with four eggs. Decided to throw the old eggs out the backdoor into the backyard. All four eggs actually bounced along in the grass and did not break. What a surprise?!!! Now the dog sits in the cold in the back yard and is guarding the eggs. Does she think they will hatch into little puppies?
