Wonder about the names?

Every noticed how the Europeans like hyphenated names? The Swiss President is Hans-Rudolf Merz and the Swiss Justice Minister is Eveline Widmar-Schlumpf. OK: Patricia-Karen Smith-Owens. Well, it just does not sound right in English. For one thing, the last names have rarely much pizzas as Singelfingen-Heimerdinger. Can't beat that.
