I saw the movie "The Help" today. How much I felt like the help working for the Catholic Church. Once a group of brown hoods said in front of me before the current pope was elected: "Anybody but a German Pope."
I am still dealing with a vindictive bishop as I am writing this. Oh, how I would love to see him eat two slices of pie. I have dealt with downright mean spirited pastors, pastors who thought because I don't get any pay I should not get a Christmas present either, pastors who are two-faced, pastors who took the staff out but I was not included because, again, only the paying staff counted, a pastor who never acknowledged me and I was invisible to him. A pastor who after seven years of work in the parish could not call, write or even send a messenger to thank me for seven years of dedicated service. You get used to the insults and you are not surprised when people leave. Yeah, and the bishop had the nerve to tell me once that giving to the diocese is for the Glory of God. The diocese could do with a little less glory and should be more interested in God.
