Morning Prayer

I went to morning prayer. The Short Deacon officiated. I got there and it was just him and me. With no minute to spare, a woman walked in and a man. They were not together - just happen to walk in together. Woman was obviously looking for a Mass. Was disappointed that there was not one but stayed. Short Deacon gave a nice homily. In the middle of morning prayer, another woman walks in, with pics in front of her, goes to tabernacle, takes out hosts and kneels down in front of tabernacle and does her own prayers. After a minute or so she gets ups and leaves. Hello?
After morning prayer, first woman bewails the fact loudly that "this was not like Mass." Wants to know from Short Deacon about his vestments. I want to kick her in the shins. She just received the Messiah and she can't see the trees in the forest and can only concentrate about the externals which she does not like but which, by the way, are beautiful. Rather than be grateful that she was able to participate in morning prayer AND receive the Messiah, she goes away grumbling. The Liturgy of the Hours are lovely liturgical events in our daily lives. Woman also does not belong to the seniors. So seniors find morning prayer with Messiah obviously not worthwhile to attend. More education is necessary.
