The Nun etc.

The nun has three nephews who are all on drugs at the presents. Their favorite drug of choice is oxycodeine. One nephew is 27, one is 20 and one is 18! The two oldest ones have been in rehabs and have relapsed, the youngest one has not been in rehab yet perhaps because he has found an enabler and never hit rock bottom like the others so far. It is a tragedy. The nun herself is now taking care of two elderly parents who are living with her. I am trying to help but so far we have not come up with anything that would "work." I can't take the parents to the doctor, because the nun wants to be there - understandably. I can't just visit the parents and let the nun go out because the parents would feel abandoned. So I can visit with parents and nun and deflect a little of her stress. Getting old and helping others is supposed to be our Hour of Glory. Sometimes you want to drink yourself out of this glory if you could. Dear Jesus: When you said:  "My yoke is easy" I think at times of a bait and switch. I have too many friends who are stressed out and some are close to being homeless. A yoke is supposed to be a double yoke - you on one side and the human person on the other. Would you please pull harder on your side?
