The wedded couple
The Rabbi blessed a wedding today. Adam and Eve were 150 years old and had been married for 100 years. They were actually very sprite for their age but the flowers at the altar looked tired. That reminded me that in the previous parish - not the last one - the one before that - I had chapel duty for odds and ends which included flowers. A couple could hand over $50 to $100 and I would make several nice arrangements which they could take home after the blessing or leave at the altar. If they wanted white roses, they got white roses, if the wanted red carnations, they got red carnations. Once a couple ask me to fill the altar with daisies because those were the flowers they had at their wedding.
