Master Knight Bald Edwin had a change of heart and after giving thanks to the poor Franciscan friar for taking care of his horses, he opened his horse order to ALL. It did not cater exclusively to the rich any longer. Noblesse oblige went out of style. The Franciscan friar was the first poor person to join the order. He refused a horse and rode a mule. He lead them to Bethlehem which was difficult because of the wall. They came in and went out the back way bypassing the Big Herod. In Bethlehem they saw a little girl and they also offered her a sandwich - surprise, surprise she took it. They had found their second Catholic in the Holy Land. Upon their departure from Bethlehem they saw the beggar woman again from Jaffa. She had followed them. They had one more ham and cheese sandwich left and it was starting to smell. They offered it to the beggar woman and the woman grinned and took it. They had found the third and last Catholic in the Holy Land. The Master Knight decided to forgo all riches and give up his mansion in Rome. (You see why this is might be a fairy tale). Knights and the Ladies also gave up their possession and decided to be called the Order of the Mule from now on and live in voluntary poverty.
