The nun and I discussed how our parishes could be more vibrant. We go to Mass and everything seems by rote and why? Because very few people have a personal relationship with Jesus. Her thought was to have a mini-revival every Wednesday night with the pastor just talking about Jesus. Nothing scheduled except a hymn and then an interactive approach to Jesus. Take one line from the Bible, preach and teach from that one line like the TV evangelists.
A lot of her younger relatives go to non-denominal churches in the area and they LOVE it. She hates it that people who were brought up Catholic are going to other churches. I listened and she does seem to have a point. We need passion in our meetings. Amen, Amen.
