Ahhhhrg! and not so ahhhhrg!

Two busts in a row! The German Leberkaese recipe was a total bust. False advertising because it does not look like anything in the picture. It is supposed to look like what you see in the picture above. It came out as a meatloaf and does not even taste as good as my recent buttermilk meatloaf which was superb. Leberkaese is a baked pate and the meat looks like veal when baked, rose, not brown. The dogs and I will eat it but I will never make it again. I can't even give this one away.
Was supposed to meet a friend in the opposite section of town today and she was a no show and the others were not there either. So I went to Pier 1 Imports next door and admired their Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations. Bought a few silly things for gift exchanges coming up.
I am trying to learn German. So what did I do? Found Mother Angelica on ETWN Deutschland last night. Voice dubbing gives her the voice of a 20 year old college student. I found another site where they had all sorts of fantastic homilies by a German priest. Listened to several - way too long into the night. The Rabbi greeted me with "Guten Morgen" today. Since he was behind me and said it quietly it sounded like someone speaking from the grave or the Holy of Holies. I surprised myself that I did not jump.
