How do you spell S-h-o-c-k!

I am drinking my cup of coffee this morning, black, and at the same time try to follow several conversations around the table. Imagine my surprise when the woman across me is telling someone that she quite often goes to Mass ---- conducted by ordained Catholic women priests! Or so she claimed. When I gingerly brought up the fact that they are excommunicated, she thought I was talking about the bishop or bishops that ordained them. She responded that the Vatican does not know who the bishops are but since the women were ordained by bishops they are truly priests because of the apostolic succession which is valid. Apostolic tradition here or there I did not want to ruin her morning but thought that the bishops, women and probably she herself are at this time excommunicated. If she would have told me that the Pope is getting married, I would not have been less surprised. Worse she was actually evangelizing for attending such Masses. "It's wonderful. We have communion etc. etc." Apparently there are four of these woman priests in the area. I needed to go to our office after and told Mrs. Hitchley.  OK let her continue with the casserole projects but pull her from lectoring. Perhaps an article in the official Apostolic News Rag would not hurt either. I am sure there are more people who think that apostolic succession precludes excommunication in these cases. If there is a new Evangelization, let us start it here with proper guidelines.
