The Vigil

I went yesterday to the all Saints' Vigil in France. It was great. A nun from the Sisters of Charity sat next to me. She gave off the wonderful odor - not of sanctity - but of Indian curry. The candlelight processin through the dark monastery is wonderful. I had a great seat in the choir loft but for that I went an hour early.
