Florence

Florence died. The funeral was today. The cantor announced the first hymn. Gave us the wrong page. We are all turning pages trying to find hymn on right page. Rabbi passes. Thinks we are demented. Gives us with finger signals the page number - still wrong number. Lucky for him it was not hymn number one and he did not use the middle finger. A few seconds later he too looks through the book trying to find the hymn. We are now thrown off our routine. When we find the hymn we can just sing the last word and it is finished. The Rabbi starts with the service. We are so rattled that we forget his spirit. We have been pretty good with his spirit. We recover for his next few spirits. Nice sermon by Rabbi. He is stressed, too. Mentions the dead of the current year. Mentions Bill Gates. Mental review on my part: did Bill Gates die over night? Think he wanted to mentioned Steve Jobs. Perhaps we switched from the dead to the living? Don't know.
God: Florence, what makes you think you can come here?
Florence: My pastor mentioned Bill Gates at my funeral.
God: In that case, you can sit in the front row. If he messes up my operating system, I am dead and we can change places.
