Family
I come from the enviable or unenviable circumstances that I don't have a family here. My husband had but was not particular close to any of them until I stepped up the pressure and we both started to appreciate his family. He hated a brother-in-law until I pointed out to him that this was a poetic neanderthal and a gifted artist "not of this world." We could laugh about it then. I learned from way back to make friends and my family is a family of friends. I have had great women friends, great male friends, friends that are younger, friends that are older. Every so often I have a friend who is sick and I take care of him or her and then I have friends who take care of me. It evolves, it changes year by year. In the end we go to the Lord one by one and not as family.
