The next generation

There is a younger woman in our parish and we have become friends. She is a convert. I met her at our Sauerkraut Festival in the temple a few month ago. Today we went to the Diner for breakfast and then a local Shrine. She did not know about their bookstore or gift shop and we browsed around for hours. I showed her Our Blessed Mother of Altoetting in the Shrine. Finally I suggested we pray just for a few minutes in front of one of the side altars. I felt compelled to pray at a particular one without knowing the reason. When I looked around it was the one that the Dominicans had donated in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. I got chills. I did not tell my companion.
She had her son with her and I have seldom seen such a well behaved kid lately. Oh, yes, she had taken the RCIA classes at our temple and she said it left a lot to be desired. I told her it was probably different now that the Rabbi was in charge.
One of the things that she said was that when non-Catholics visit our Masses they are totally confused as to what is going on. The little pew cards we have now actually help somewhat but it is still insufficient.
I have always liked "stop and go" Masses every so often for that very reason.
