Today Carnival moves into the streets. The big parades are coming up on Monday. The women are permitted to kiss everyone they can grab today - and they cut off ties. Wearing of ties is not permitted. Schools are closed starting today through Ash Wednesday.These are not official holidays but "quiet" holiday. Wished we had more quiet holidays here.
