How do I stop from laughing?

Actually I should not be laughing. Went tonight to our fish dinner - more about this in another blog - and then saw the 2nd part of Fr. Barron's Catholicism series. Each table does a small group discussion at the conclusion of the video. We followed the script but somewhere along the line we went off track and landed in the controversial lesbian's lap who was denied communion recently by a priest in the area. Everyone knew about it. "Jesus would have given her communion, Jesus would have accepted her, the actions by this priest were despicable." Actually I learned subsequently that this priest left the altar and the funeral party which of course is stupid, if that is true, but I can't fault him for not giving the woman communion. I wanted to ask: Would Jesus have healed the homosexuals or accepted them? I probably would have had to duck under the table after that and I was not ready to vanish. I did say at one point that it might be a long time until active homosexuality is accepted. Rome's ways are glacial. Wow! Rome was totally irrelevant for all of them. Of course with this kind of thinking our Governor who recently passed a same sex marriage bill in our state will get re-elected. There were enough votes just at our table alone. What I find so strange is that at the Church of the Seven Flags it is the seniors who are conservative, at the Church of the Crucified they look at us in horror, we are apostate, the Church of the Twelve Dwarfs did not have a lot of seniors but I never saw such a total disregard for Catholic teaching anywhere. Yet, I think I am at the right spot to give witness. I am happy I have Steubenville. My spiritual spa - coming up in July. I will need it.
